Building Endor Bunker Shield Generators
When I first saw the shield generator models at CIV, I was determined to build them some day. I have been able to gather a few items and have now started the build. This is going to be my first SS model.
I picked up a set of medicine cups that go in the center, now I just need to pick up the cups that are on top of the dome and the large cups that is part of the base. In my search I have only been able to find them in bulk. I may just have to give in and by the 1000 plus cups... ![]() I know that the Apollo engines are the wrong ones, I will update those with the correct ones. ![]() ![]() ![]() any help on ID'ing parts will be appreciated Last edited by seven; 08-13-2010 at 04:48 PM. |

Re: Building Endor Bunker Shield Generators
Very interesting model.
Is it certain those cups were the plastic ones? The outer perimeter or "lip" seems a bit thicker on the original prop, like maybe they were the paper variety... Either way, cool model and I'll be interested to see it finished. |

Awesome, i love these things! Hmm still reckon the upper section consists of some form of Trans casing, possibly from a 1/12 F1, not 100% yet.

No wonder why it's always so hard to find a Saturn V model, lol.
Looking like a great start. |

Re: Building Endor Bunker Shield Generators
the upper cups that I have there in the pic are not the correct size no. The base Dia. is just a little to small.
I'll be picking up the correct sized ones, hopefully later. |

Picked up the Airfix Apollo

Re: Building Endor Bunker Shield Generators
I feel like I am starting a cup collection. I picked up a couple different brands (including Dixie) to compare and see which cups looks more spot on.
Let me know what you guys think first the bottom cups: middle section: Top cups:

![]() No expert, but the one on the right looks better to me. I also remember those being more resilient than the ones on the left which crack easily. -DM |

Re: Building Endor Bunker Shield Generators
i've got a ton of extra small cups, however most (if not all at the moment) are the wrong style. Trying to find smaller quantities till I find the right ones.

Re: Building Endor Bunker Shield Generators
I've actually found another set of small cups that are a lot closer to the original ones used, and I will be updating the ellipse under the main dome too, as it just seems to tall.
Currently I am looking through the tank scans for the part between the large base cups and the mid section. I think it may be the base of the turret. Here is a quick 'sketch' of what the part kind of looks like. Maybe someone will recognize it...? Edit: I am starting to lean towards a 1/6 Motorcyle Wheel frame Last edited by seven; 09-22-2010 at 12:59 PM. |

Re: Building Endor Bunker Shield Generators
Ahhh go ahead and buy them by the thousand.... once you've got it figured out you can sell them to others as sets and recoup the cost...
Its a cool prop that looks like it would be a cool (fairly in expensive) project. Jedi Dade |
