Amazing mate, just f*****g AMAZING!
this is great, hoping to start building a 32" myself sometime in the near future but will cheat and do a hasbro conversion.way too much work here for me.
I'm sure I've asked this question before but can't find it if I have so I'll ask again. What is the OD size of the tube for the cockpit?
It's three inches mate..

Thanks tk1608.
3 inches? I didn't think it was that big. Are you sure that's not the circumference?![]()

Nah, it's 3 inch diameter tube...from the EMA place..
Honest ..
Phil
I'm off to the hardware store soon. I hope they have something I can use since we don't have an EMA place here in Australia.
Junk pilot: look for plastic manufacturers / suppliers online or in your phone book.
amazing, ill keep an eye on this build
I know this forum is a few years old, but it has inspired me to give this a go. Beautiful work my friend! Truly inspiring. I am having trouble figuring out the height of my falcon. May I ask how tall you made your ribs to give me the curve of the hull?
My ribs are 35mm at the highest point, and the curve tapers off to nothing. You've got to check this yourself though to see if you agree. I worked it out depending on styrene thickness etc and that's what I came up with. It's all subjective this stuff...
Hope it helps

Simply amazing! Any idea on the total number of hours you put into this beauty? Whatever the number is it was totally worth it!
I've got no idea how many hours...
Glad you like it though

Is there anyone who casts parts in bulk for a 32in? It becomes an expensive exercise when buying kits and are unable to cast the parts yourself.
Cory, "mensaboy", over on resin illuminati is doing a set of resin parts taken from the entex kit....gearbox parts etc...
It's a start...I dunno if he's doing anything else, but you could ask him.

Yup. I've got his great Entex castings.
Started to buy kits a few years ago and still on the hunt. Where do those engine vent rings come from? They look like castings. and how does one make a cockpit I know that it's patterned after a Dixie cup but does anybody know what size? are the answers already post here? Maybe I missed them.
My cockpit and engine vent rings were cast/made by Moe,..
Ive seen on another thread that Frank is offering the inner detail casts for the engine vents..have a look..
