I am new to this site and wanted to show you the progress of my fully functional motorcycle helmet that is airbrushed to look like Optimus Prime. The idea and inspiration came from me but the artwork and the creation of this helmet came from Rek's MOTORCYCLE HELMETS
The antennas were made from cardboard and strengthen with fiberglass as well as the top pieces. This is a fully functional helmet with the face shield airbrushed but leaving the eyes unpainted. We have just started to finish the helmet and I will post the final product when completed. I think my next project is to make my own full pepakura Iron Man suit after browsing this web site. I will post the final product in a few days and I can't wait to see it.

I currently Have a 1:1 scale Special Weapons Dalek which I built Myself, as well as a Scratch built Proton Pack.

To continue with the Ghostbusters Theme, I'd like to build a fully wearable slimer type ghost, using a similar process as Deck Star's Ninja Turtle:

For the Arms... I was thinking of mixing Deck Stars method with Penwiper's method on her 'Weeping Angel':

What do people think? Will my method work?

And does anyone know where I can find any referances to how they made the slimer in the movies, as I can't find much at all.

The jacket is where I'm concerned.

I can sew and have no problem creating patterns for stuffed dolls, etc. but never had to make something that had to fit me.

Any advice or some pointing in the right direction for making the patterns?

I have plenty of photo reference material for what I'm making, but creating something flat that will eventually become a wearable piece of clothing worries me a little.

I'm new to Pepakura, I've completed 2 pep files before getting into the gears files. 1 iron man helmet and 1 HD iron man helmet. After completing those, this armor was very easy for me to complete.

I've played around with resin with the iron man helmets but that didn't work out well. I've been reading a lot threads on how to resin halo armor so i think i have a pretty good hang on it now, but still kinda worried about doing it. Just asking for a little help thanks.

Over the last two months I have been considering, wondering, planning, agonizing, and pondering how to build a spectre costume for PAX Prime 2010. About a week before it started it all came to me how it would work and after a flurry of furious foam fun, some magic sculpt solutions, and some pvc inspirations It all came together.

Granted, attempting to wire up some LED's failed badly, I went without glowing eyes and other glowing parts (there is alot of glowing normally). Also, this costume wasn't really fully assembled until the parking lot of PAX. A little electrical tape goes a long way.

Here it is all up and assembled:





The hardest part was getting the mask to actually work.

In the end I didn't really finish the costume in time for PAX. But I got about 75% done. There are lights, decals, the leg armor (I use bits from an old Commedian costume), and even the gun wasn't done being modified.

But I'm happy, learned a lot, and got a great response.
