I finally, FINALLY got to do a photoshoot this weekend!!

As far as the game goes, it wasn't my favorite of the series, but it was definitely memorable. I go into a lot of step-by-step pics on my Flickr but here are the highlights.

Embroidery:



Fiber-etching the applique with acid stuff that works on plant based fibers like cotton and linen (you must use synthetic thread for the embroidery edge):






Armor, a combo of tooled leather and clay which I cast in urethane resin:





Gown, has some decorative stitching:



After a long period of grad school and my Commander Shepard build preventing further documentation of this, (and the fact that I really HATE wearing elf ears), I did the photoshoot in a historic park. We went in the morning and the lighting was great. I couldn't have been happier with the results. Photography credit goes to my excellent room mate, and post processing is me.

And hair added, cut and styled, with temporary glass eyes in place, and vintage 1970's flannel nightgown on (it's not accurate, but it's the closest that I've been able to find - and I've been through HUNDREDS of eBay listings):




My wife will of course NEVER go into my prop room now. :lol

It looks a bit off due to the large irises and huge pupils as well as the downward look (only way to show the very top of the iris and make here look more intense/starey), but Tech Optics are on the case and are making custom matched eyes for her at this very moment. Will update when those arrive.

Now, do I add the green vomit running down her chin or not?.... Also not sure about adding eyelashes - she has no eyebrows, but is she meant to have eyelashes? This is an Ironborn outfit I've been banging out. Presently, I haven't put correct lacing in - I'm waiting or my spool of leather lacing in the mail. Beyond that, I haven't put in all the studding or finished off the sleeve epaulets, or finished the lower placards. Need some boots still and other leather belt bits. Then the most dreaded portion...taking all of my hours of patterning, cutting, ironing, and sewing and then "mess it up". Distressing the costume will be psychologically damaging to me, but I know it needs to be done.
