The neck seal, and hand files are mk 4 , but the neck seal and hands didnt really change all that much so im using and posting em as mk42, it may be wrong but its close enough for noone to notice. Also I changed the files a bit removing all the paper bits you wont need for foam, hope this helps everyone out , and credits go to helgak ,jakieisrockin, gimpee and zabana, for the actual file unfolds and such.

I will post more updates as my build progresses but for now heres the files...enjoy

So I managed to finish the pep itself and get it's first coat of resin on it. Unfortunately the coat is not exactly even, there's little bits and parts that aren't coated, and being my first time doing resin work and having bought brushes with bristles that kept getting stuck on the helmet, you can see the aftermath when the resin dried up. I managed to remove some though.
<img src="http://www.therpf.com/attachments/f71/built-forgot-about-need-help-resurrection-20130524_233817.jpg-188608d1369410694t" border="0" alt="Click image for larger version.
Recently I managed to get my hands on resin and fibreglass again cause my last batch was accidentally thrown out while cleaning up the garage then I remembered I left this thing out there as well and now the dome is covered in dust ! I already spent my budget and left over materials on another pep. So I'm just wondering what you guys might suggest. The dust looks like it's going to be a problem for the second coating of resin. Also the back rim of the helmet is a little torn but it's nothing serious.

Should I do another build or is this one still salvageable? If it's gotta go then it'll be emotional. (It was my first successful pep)

I'm helping the production of a Blade Runner 2 "fan film" right now and I've gotta make a few PKD's for the movie, I'm currently scratch building my own for myself, but I would rather just recast a resin kit for the production and give them to them to keep....

If anyone can help me out or cast even cast me a few at a good price, I appreciate it!

By the way here's a link to the production if you wanna check it out!
Do I need to fiber glass it??
Do I use another kind of hardener like smooth cast??
And I was wondering, if there is a tutorial on doing armors or ironman suites, in this forum.

Recently i discovered "The Dresden Files" and there are some cool props in the show. I wanted to make accurate copies of Bob's Manacles which i finished last week.

I started with the sigils that were posted in an old thread on a syfy forum, but after checking out screencaps from a 720p rip of the show i noticed they needed to be made more accurate.

when the graphics were done, i saline etched them in a strip of aluminium and (with a plastic ring) made a bracelet master. A 2 part mold was made and pewter copies were cast. The castings were cleaned up with sandingpaper and steelwool. I chemically aged the bracelets with ferric chloride which also makes the sigils stand out a bit. The pieces were cleaned up again with a scouring pad and have a nice old look, which will tarnish more over time.

combined they nearly weigh 400 grams and i am very happy with the result :)

Thanks for looking

Hey peeps!

Recently went to the Leeds Zombie Film Festival, and part of my semi-survivor ('semi' cuz I got bit) costume was a baseball bat, built at speed the day before the show, so please excuse the lack of a real tutorial, as I totally bogarted Dave Lowes' build here, but with a couple of additional steps due to the base bat I used.

His original build is here: DAVE LOWE DESIGN the Blog: Making a Zombie Bashing Baseball Bat Prop Arsenal

Okay, so I started out with 2 foam bats from the 99p Shop, like this:

First order of business was extending the handle as per the Dave Lowe method, though I used a wooden dowel that went from the end cap of the handle to just past the top of the handle section.
The other bat donated about 8" of its handle for this, and for a nice tight fit I wrapped the dowel with duct tape before contact-gluing everything nice & tight.

After letting that dry, I coated the red part of the bat with a couple of coats of PVA glue to seal it for paint.

First couple of coats onto that were mixed in a light yellow-tan acrylic with a bit of PVA added for luck.

I didn't paint the handle as I knew I was just gonna wrap that in tape, tho I did make sure to catch the top of the blue part just in case.

Bit of a jump now - after a couple more quick coats of gradually more orange-brown paint (just gradually darkened my paint mix), I started on the fun job of bloodying up the bat. Overkill? Nah!

Here you can see I added some cloth tape to the handle before blooding. Blood is more acrylic paint/PVA thinned with a bit of water darkened with a little black and a touch of green to make it almost brown/burgundy - I wanted a nice dried blood effect base.

I then added slightly redder washes and splatters & smears in random layers.

Here is the end of the bat, with two grooves that were bothering me. The blood in them worked well to sell a wooden look.

Top of the handle, where it meets the 'wood' - I ingrained the blood around here for added depth by doing a very thin black/dirty wash over the cloth tape.

The end cap also got the wood effect colour, then bloodied down.

Finally, here's how I dealt with those grooves - rusty barbed wire!

Okay, not real barb wire. Knotted garden twine with a thick soaking of dark grey acrylic paint to stiffen it some. I added 'blood' to the tips after this pic.

And that was me done! It was after midnight, but it was finished!

The paint has survived pretty well, only a couple of scratches & scrapes. I'd been afraid of it sloughing off like snakeskin, but the PVA helps it to stay on the foam.

What do you think, sirs?
Coz.
